A Fond Farewell from a Fine Group of Seniors

Game Program, February 24, 2007

Each of the six members of the men's hockey Class of 2007 were asked, "What has made your time at RPI special?" Below are their answers as they play the final regular season home games of their careers.

It's hard to believe that my time here at RPI is almost over. I strongly believe the reason time has flown by is for the fact that I loved every day I was here. From the first day I arrived on campus, I immediately found myself at home with the great community, fans and, of course, my teammates. I have been very fortunate to have met so many great people since I've been here as it is a special place that I will never forget.

The one thing I will miss most about RPI will definitely be suiting up every weekend with my brothers to play in front of the best fans in the country. The support from the student body and the rest of the fans has been amazing over the past four years. It's definitely something special to wear the jersey and it has been an honor.

Thank you, the fans, for everything. - #14 Kevin Broad

My time at RPI has been special for so many reasons. Playing at the Field House in front of all of the RPI students and fans has been something that I will always treasure. All of the people that I've met during my four years have also contributed greatly to my wonderful experience here. By far though, the largest contributor to my amazing four years has been the time I've spent with my teammates. The guys that I have had the privilege of playing with over the last four years have been the ones that made my time at RPI so truly special. - #10 Oren Eizenman

There are many things that have made my time at RPI special. The time spent with the team is by far the most special thing to me; I have made so many lifelong friends in such a short period of time. The people involved with the team are amazing. They are always there to help you in the blink of an eye, and that is hard to find. RPI really becomes your home away from home, and four short years goe by quickly when you are having fun. There is also a lot of tradition at RPI that makes it special to be a player here, and every player that steps onto the ice can feel that atmosphere and the pride that RPI has. It really is unbelievable how amazing the atmosphere in the Field House is. It can't be beat by any other rink in the country, and having the honor to step out onto that ice and hear our fans was one of the best experiences of my life. There are so many things that make RPI special but the most important thing is the people. They become your family and friends and it will be very sad when I have to leave them. I will miss the fans and everyone who has helped me along the way. Thanks for everything you have given me, RPI. - #26 Tommy Green

What has made my time here so special is really the people I have met during my time here. I couldn't ask for a better group of guys as teammates and all the people around the organization ... along with so many people who have helped me along the way around the RPI campus. Having my parents down here for my senior year has really meant a lot to me. I will never forget my time here and all of the great people along the way. This truly has been an experience of a lifetime. - #15 Jake Luthi

A lot of things have made my time here special, but I think what really stands out is the people. From my teammates, to the fans, and the entire RPI community. The support has always been tremendous through the good times and the bad and that is something I wouldn't trade for anything. - #13 Kirk MacDonald

My four years were special because of all the people involved with the program that have shown such a passion for RPI hockey. The experiences I have had became more memorable as I saw how much the college and community supported the program. The Red Army members, season ticket holders, band members, countless families, students, all the kids hanging over the railings when we come down the tunnel, professors, anyone who has ever shown their support; all these people have really made mine and my family's time here at RPI very special. On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you all. It's been a great ride! - #7 Ryan Swanson
