RPI, Dartmouth Tie

Engineers Squander 2-0 Lead in Road Contest

HANOVER, N.H. - Lee Stempniak netted a goal midway through the third period to give Dartmouth a 2-2 overtime tie against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday.

Stempniak took a Jamie Herrington feed off the boards and slipped the puck between the legs of RPI goalie Nathan Marsters at the 8:17 mark.

RPI (9-10-4, 3-7-3 ECAC) built a 2-0 lead on a pair of goals by Marc Cavosie. He scored his first of the game with 2:47 remaining in the first period and the second on the power play at the 15:53 mark in the second period.

Dartmouth (9-8-4, 6-4-4) narrowed the lead to 2-1 with just six seconds remaining in the second period when Chris Baldwin connected with Frank Nardella.
