RPI Pastes Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - RPI got two goals and one assist from senior Jim Henkel and went on to skate past Harvard 5-1 Friday in a key ECAC hockey game at Bright Hockey Center.

The Engineers improved to 15-10-4 overall with the win and 9-7-3 in ECAC play. The Crimson fell to 10-12-4 overall and 9-7-3 in the league.

RPI and Harvard are tied for fourth in the ECAC with three regular-season games left.

RPI is 6-0-1 during February.

The Engineers took a 1-0 lead at 7:36 of the opening period on a goal by junior Nolan Graham. RPI increased its lead to 2-0 on a power-play goal at 5:52 of the second period on Henkel's first goal of the game.

RPI scored again to take a 3-0 lead on junior Marc Cavosie's power-play goal with 1:05 left in the period.

The Engineers' lead went to 4-0 when Henkel scored his second goal of the night after stealing the puck from a Harvard defenseman.

Harvard scored on Brett Nowak's power-play goal at 13:17 of the final period.

Cavosie scored an empty-net goal in the final seconds.
